This is a great entry-level volunteer role and a fun way to be right in the middle of the action, with one of the best views in the house. Ushers are a huge part of making Bridge City Riot run smoothly! Before the games, you’ll be on the move, helping fans find seats and get settled. Once the action starts, you’ll be posted in Turn 1 or Turn 4, checking wristbands or stamps for re-entry, helping keep walkways clear during jams, and making sure drinks stay inside the building. We’ll set you up with clear sightlines so you don’t miss the on-track excitement while helping keep the tournament safe and fun for everyone.

Help bring the fun and raise funds for our league by selling raffle tickets during Bridge City Riot!

This role is all about creating a great fan experience - feel free to go big with glitter, costumes, bold outfits, or anything that helps you stand out and spread excitement throughout the venue.

Cash handling is required, and every ticket sold helps support our Buds Travel Teams. If you love hype, creativity, and interacting with fans, this is a blast of a role.

Help us capture the energy of Bridge City Riot and share it with fans near and far! As a Social Media volunteer, you’ll be right in the middle of the action, snapping photos, sharing highlights, and helping tell the story of the tournament in real time.

We’ll set you up with a phone logged into RCR’s accounts, clear guidelines on what to capture, and a handy list of teams, sponsors, and hashtags to use. If you’re comfortable with social media, have an eye for great moments, and love showing off the excitement of junior roller derby, this is a fun and creative way to support the event and the league.

Help support our announcers and bring Bridge City Riot to life for fans in the Hangar and watching from home! In this role, you’ll assist with tracking key gameplay moments, like lead jammer calls, star passes, and other important stats, and help keep information flowing smoothly between the House Announcers and the Live Stream Announcers.

We’ll provide on-site training, clear rosters, and support from experienced announcers and stream volunteers to set you up for success. If you love roller derby, have a good eye for details, and enjoy being part of the behind-the-scenes energy that makes a great broadcast possible, this is a fantastic way to plug in.

Help keep the track safe, smooth, and game-ready for Bridge City Riot! Track Team volunteers play a key behind-the-scenes role by prepping and maintaining the track before, during, and after bouts so our juniors can skate their best.

Before games, you’ll help sweep the track and check tape lines. During gameplay, you’ll be ready to jump in for quick tape fixes when officials signal, with another sweep and check at halftime and after the final whistle. You’ll be close to the action, working alongside officials and other volunteers to keep everything running smoothly.

This role is great for folks who like to stay active, pay attention to details, and enjoy being an essential part of game day operations. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes. 

Interested in helping out at the Plow Stop during Bridge City Riot? Under our OLCC Non-Profit license, volunteers can help run the bar and keep fans refreshed throughout the tournament. We’ll have snacks, non-alcoholic options, and alcoholic beverages available.

Before signing up for a bartending shift, volunteers will be asked to read a short pamphlet outlining OLCC guidelines; no prior bartending experience required. If you enjoy fast-paced, fan-facing roles and helping create a fun, welcoming game-day atmosphere, this is a great way to volunteer.

Help bring RCR games to fans watching from home! Stream Team volunteers provide live coverage of the action and get a behind-the-scenes look at how our broadcasts come together. You’ll receive hands-on training from our incredible production team, Evie, Dustin, and Saul, and no prior experience is needed.

Roles include camera operators and OBS/computer operators, with plenty of support to help you learn as you go. If you’re curious about live production, enjoy working as part of a team, and want to help share the excitement of roller derby beyond the Hangar, this is a fun and rewarding way to volunteer.

Volunteer Safety Staff are responsible for providing medical support throughout Bridge City Riot and play a vital role in keeping skaters, officials, volunteers, and fans safe. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary medical responder during bouts, responding promptly and calmly to injuries or medical incidents.

Responsibilities may include providing medical assistance to skaters, event staff, and spectators; acting as the initial responder to injuries; remaining vigilant for potential concussions or other injuries; and administering CPR, BLS, or other life-saving care as needed.

This role is open to qualified medical professionals, including Certified First Responders (CFRs), EMTs, Paramedics, Athletic Trainers, Nurses (LPNs and RNs), Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Physicians with relevant experience.

All certifications must be current, and volunteers should work strictly within their scope of training and licensure.

Front Entrance Be the friendly first face of Bridge City Riot! Front Entrance volunteers create a smooth, welcoming check-in experience for fans, skaters, officials, and volunteers while helping the event start on a positive note.

You’ll help greet attendees, check guests in, handle ticket sales and re-entry needs, and keep the front table organized and well-stocked. Responsibilities include preparing the check-in area, managing supplies (wristbands, stamps, programs, etc.), coordinating with the Events Manager on door details, and processing cash or card sales using Square.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, and brings a friendly, solution-focused attitude. Cash-handling and customer service experience are helpful but not required.
