Set up is a great way to get in, volunteer, then get to just watch and have fun!

Tasks include:

Setting up canopies Carrying trash out Sweeping Setting up tables/paperwork Other duties as assigned

Help support the league and outfit fans with awesome new looks by selling merch! This can be a great entry level role and volunteers get one of the best seats in the house to watch the game!

People in this role should be friendly, love talking to strangers, and able to help increase sales.

Ushers are so important to game days! 

Before the game starts, you'll be moving around and helping get fans into seats but once the game starts, we'll get you posted up in turn 1 or turn 4 to help check for wristbands/stamps for re-entry, making sure people aren't taking alcohol out of the building, and helping to keep the walkways clear during jams. ​We'll make sure you have clear views of the action o nthe track!

Help create a fun fan experience and raise money for the league through raffle sales!

Volunteers are encouraged to dress up in lots of glitter, costumes, whatever is fun and makes you stand out.

Cash handling required.

Responsibilities and Duties 

To ensure an efficient and friendly check-in process for all event attendees and be a welcoming first experience to our fans, skaters, volunteers, and broader community.  

 

Objectives 

Provide exceptional customer service to everyone who comes in the door  Print all lists and paperwork needed for the front entrance. Have info available for special ticketing for that event.  Track supplies and manage their upkeep in volunteer box (i.e.. pens, stamps, ink pads, wristbands, photo passes, etc.) and communicate needs to the Event Manager Prepare and organize front table for check in, including cleaning, set-up, and supply management. Check in with Events Manager for cash bank, door numbers, and any last minute adjustments.  Follow all check in and entrance processes for production, skaters, and fans  Make change for cash sales, swipe credit cards using the Square  Deposit cash from door sales properly in safe. 

  

Requirements 

Good verbal communication skills  Ability to problem solve  Customer service experience would be helpful  Good under pressure and handles high volume stress well  Organizational skills  Experience with cash handling  Friendly, helpful, positive attitude  Must be Comfortable checking CDC cards against IDs

 

Our Volunteer Safety Staff assists the Bout Medic in ensuring the safety of skaters by promptly responding to medical incidents during bouts. 

Following the direction of the Bout Medic, Volunteer Safety Staff:

provides medical assistance to skaters, event staff, and spectators. assists the First Chair Medic as the initial responder to injuries. remains vigilant for potential concussions or other injuries assists the Bout Medic with administering CPR, BLS, etc. in the case of life-threatening situations.

Volunteer Safety Staff should have the following certification and experience:

Certified First Responders (CFRs), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), or Paramedics. Physicians with expertise in sports medicine, orthopedics, and/or emergency medicine. Athletic trainers with CPR training. Licensed Practical or Registered Nurses with current CPR training and experience in sports medicine, orthopedics, and/or emergency medicine. Nurse Practitioners or Physician's Assistants with current CPR training and experience in sports medicine, orthopedics, and/or emergency medicine.

Volunteer Safety Staff should only work within their level of training and experience and all certification needs to be current. 

Provide fans at home with live coverage of the action! 

This position requires some training and approval.

Under the OLCC Non-Profit license, we can have volunteers work our bar. Volunteers will be required to read a pamphlet before they can sign up for bartending shifts that explain OLCC guidelines.

Before the Game:

Channel your inner perfectionist and sweep the track to ensure it’s clean and safe.Inspect the tape, repairing any imperfections to keep it game-ready.

During the Game:

Stay on alert and ready to spring into action! When officials signal for tape repairs, you’ll swoop in to fix things up like a track ninja.

Halftime:

It’s your time to shine again! Sweep and recheck the tape to ensure everything is in top-notch condition for the second half.

After the Game:

Giving the track a final sweep and tape check.

Purple Reign exists to to enhance the experience of RCR fans through crowd involvement. Founded in 2012, Purple Reign continues to support the RCR mission by providing entertainment and education for our fans. Our goal is to serve as ambassadors of the league by sharing the RCR history, explaining the sport of roller derby, and engaging fans to express their enthusiasm for RCR.

Engage the crowd at bouts, talk about roller derby, and have a lot of fun!

Excite the crowd to keep the event lively for fans  Work with the Event Manager and Marketing Manager prior to, and during, bouts

Really high energy  Must enjoy dressing up and being silly with a crowd  Prior experience in a similar capacity would be very helpful

 

Capture the Action – Social Media Volunteer for Bouts at the Hangar

We host over 80 bouts at the hangar, and we need your help to bring the excitement to fans everywhere! As a social media volunteer, you’ll be in the middle of the action, capturing and sharing memorable moments with our followers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Taking photos of the event based on specific guidelines provided.

Posting updates, highlights, and engaging content to social media.

Tagging sponsors, teams, and relevant accounts to maximize visibility.

What We Provide:

A social media phone logged into RCR’s accounts.

A list of desired content types to capture.

A guide to sponsors, teams, and hashtags to include.

What You Bring:

A solid understanding of social media best practices.

Creativity and enthusiasm for sharing the tournament experience.
