Who We Are

Coaches are RCR members and/or volunteers that dedicate their time to the development of others. Coaches are current skaters, past skaters, and sometimes people that have never skated. To qualify as a coach, volunteers must sign the coach code of conduct, keep their first aid qualifications current, pass a background check (for juniors), and complete other training as required by the Athletic Program Manager. Check out opportunities to narrow your coaching focus. Coaches are needed for adults, Rosebuds (ages 12-18), and Rose Petals (ages 7-12).

What We Do

A Rose City Rollers coach is a dedicated mentor who guides skaters in developing their skills, strategies, and sportsmanship, while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. They are responsible for designing training arcs, planning practices, preparing teams for competitions, and promoting the league's values of teamwork, respect, and community. By setting a positive example and encouraging personal growth, coaches help skaters build confidence and resilience both on and off the track. Their role is crucial in ensuring the competitive success of the teams and the overall strength of the Rose City Rollers community.
